"Ironman Grandpa" Al Slusser successfully completed two long-distance walks of the three-part Great America Walk. At age 71, Al was recognized by Wikipedia "as the oldest documented man on record to walk across the United States from one coast to the other." At age 72, he increased his record by walking up the entire East Coast and, at age 73, he plans to increase it further by walking up the entire West Coast. Find out more about Al Slusser

The 2 Stages of the Great America Walk:

1. Age 70-71, 2010 (3,200 miles) San Diego, CA. to Annapolis, MD. (220 days) - Dedicated to senior citizens and individuals with disabilities.

2. Age 72, 2010 (2,100 miles) Key West, FL. to the Canadian border in Vermont. (123 days) - Dedicated to U.S. troops and veterans citizens and individuals with disabilities.
